Инъекция Салицилата Физостигмина
What is Physostigmine Salicylate Injection?
Physostigmine Salicylate Injection is a sterile parenteral solution of physostigmine, a reversible cholinesterase inhibitor originally derived from the Calabar bean (Physostigma venenosum). Unlike quaternary-amine cholinesterase inhibitors such as neostigmine, physostigmine is a tertiary amine and crosses the blood–brain barrier, which makes it uniquely able to reverse central as well as peripheral anticholinergic effects. It is a hospital and critical-care antidote, supplied by Farbe Firma in 2 ml sterile ampoules at a strength of 1 mg/ml.
Uses of Physostigmine Salicylate Injection
- Central Anticholinergic Syndrome: Reversal of the confusion, agitation and delirium caused by central anticholinergic blockade.
- Anticholinergic (Antimuscarinic) Toxicity: Treatment of severe poisoning from agents such as atropine, antihistamines and certain antipsychotic medicines.
- Plant and Mushroom Poisoning: Management of toxicity from anticholinergic plants such as Datura (jimsonweed) and deadly nightshade.
- Post-Anaesthetic Reactions: Specialist-supervised use in selected post-operative anticholinergic reactions.
How Does Physostigmine Salicylate Injection Work?
Physostigmine reversibly inhibits acetylcholinesterase, the enzyme responsible for breaking down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. By slowing this breakdown, it raises acetylcholine concentrations at both central and peripheral synapses and restores normal cholinergic transmission, directly counteracting the muscarinic blockade that produces anticholinergic syndrome. Its action is short-lived, so clinical monitoring and, where indicated, repeat dosing are required.
FAQs on Physostigmine Salicylate Injection
1. What strength and pack size does Farbe Firma manufacture?
Farbe Firma manufactures Physostigmine Salicylate Injection at 1 mg/ml in 2 ml sterile ampoules — the standard hospital and critical-care presentation.
2. Why can physostigmine treat central symptoms when other antidotes cannot?
Because it is a tertiary amine, physostigmine crosses the blood–brain barrier. Quaternary-amine cholinesterase inhibitors cannot, so they reverse only peripheral effects.
3. Do you provide regulatory dossiers for export?
Yes. Farbe Firma provides WHO-GMP compliant CTD and ACTD dossiers and country-specific registration support for emerging markets across Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and the CIS region.
4. What is the minimum order quantity?
Because physostigmine is a niche emergency-medicine product, the MOQ is flexible. Contact Farbe Firma with your specification for a quotation.
